About Me

Hello My Name is Adrienne Franklin, I am in my 70’s and was born and lived all in Bristol which is in the West of England. I now live in a block of 9 flats on the outskirts of  Bristol.   I was brought up by my mother’s sister and her husband.  They had no children of their own and had a spare bedroom, whereas my mother did not.  Due to the fact that my father was killed in an accident at work when I was 5 and my brother was nearly 3, she took in paying guests to make some money.

When I first moved she was living only 2 doors away, but in my late teens she moved.   Initially it was only a short bus ride away, but then she moved to a village on the outskirts and then another.   When she did this I stayed with her for the weekend.   But stopped doing so when she moved back to Bristol purchasing a flat a short distance from where I now live.

My mother persuaded my auntie to be my godmother, which involved her taking vows to take me to church, sent me to Sunday School, etc.    I stopped going while visiting my mother, but when she moved back to Bristol I started to go again.   How this came about was because I found myself out of a job  and when I applied for new ones was asked to tell them what GCSE’s I had.  I didn’t.    I was and still am an avid reader so I decided to see if I could study myself and take them.  I found out that I could.

Initially I took English Language, English Literature and Greek Civilization and passed all 3.   I then decided to take Geography and Human Biology.      The latter 2 were, obviously, approached from an evolutionary angle.   When I really started to study it found myself asking: how it worked, what the evidence was, etc.  I could find no answers to these questions.  As I was out of work with not much money most of my studies were in books from libraries.

I started looking at ancient history books and came across The Genesis Flood by Henry Morris and John Whitcomb.  I decided to read it.  The first thing that struck me was that unlike the books that dealt with evolution they gave the evidence that backed up what they said.  I liked that.

Another book I picked up was Whatever Happened To The Human Race by Francis Schaeffer.  In it he said that all of us have what he calls A World View and everything we are told is filtered through this world view.  Other publications say that there is no such thing as an uninterpreted fact.    Examples of this, etc will be looked at in a post on this blog.

I mention this so you will know why I say what I do on posts that deal with current topics  on my blog.   When the above didn’t get me a job I enrolled for a course on how to use computers and as they say “Took to it like a duck to water”.   I even did some programming.   I found it really interesting and if I had been younger (I was in my later 40’s by this time) I would have taken it further and tried to get a job doing it.

It was quite a bit after I retired in 1998 when I was 60 that I got on to the internet.

As I mentioned above I am in my 70’s and would say to people my age: “If I can do it, you can as well.”   I enjoy meeting people and finding out what they do and what they want from life.

I have met quite a few people from various countries who I would not have met if I had not decided to become an internet marketer.    Some of them I have only met on the internet from joining their programs and attending conferences they have hosted.   Others I have actually met at conference I have attended, mostly in America.

Hi. I wanted to write you a quick comment to express my thanks. I’ve been following your blog for a week or so and have picked up a great deal of good information as well as enjoyed the way you’ve setup your blog. I am attempting to run my own blog but I think it’s far too general. I want to focus more on narrower topics. Being all things to all people is not all that its cracked up to be. Many thanks.

  5. Could you get in touch with me? I am thinking about placing an advert on this web-site.

  6. Generally I do not post on blogs, but I would like to say that this post really forced me to do so. Really nice post!

I do like the way you have framed this particular issue plus it really does supply me personally some fodder for consideration. On the other hand, because of what precisely I have seen, I simply hope as other responses pile on that men and women remain on point and in no way embark on a tirade associated with some other news du jour. Still, thank you for this excellent point and although I can not concur with the idea in totality, I regard the standpoint.

what a wonderful way to start blogging

  21. Adrienne, there was not much ‘real information’ about YOU here. I was expecting much more actually. Also, I noticed that you absolutely need to be more selective when it come to accepting your comments, since I see many of the comments on this page are plain SPAM comments. Think about it, will you? If you need help, I am on Skype and I am pretty sure we are friends there as well.
